"So I literally said to him, 'I have ideas, I know what I wanna do, I have this backstory for them, they’re highly evolved, they’ve become this perfect killing machine because they can hear.' And he said, 'I love it.' And I said, 'but I need you to walk with me.' And he said, 'well, listen, some directors don’t want any input, they just want us to do what they want to do, and some directors wanna collaborate.' And I was like, 'full collaboration.

And to have a guy like that on set telling you how they shot the Imperial ships in Star Wars at the opening, and then saying, 'you know, that raptor scene in Jurassic Park.' And you’re like, 'wait, what? You’re talking about my childhood, my movie DNA.' And he was there and he was the guy," Krasinski recalled with a laugh. "There was a guy named Scott Farrar, who was one of the original ILM guys. Krasinski credited the look of the creatures to the special effects wizards at ILM, who helped him craft an otherworldly threat in a truly insane timeframe the film was shot over a mere thirty days, and the post-production window, from the end of shooting until the day of release, was only five months.

(They're basically the alien equivalent of us in the morning when we try to throw our phones across the room to turn off our alarm). Throughout the film, we see notes that Krasinski's character has written about the beasts as he tries to understand them and learn their weaknesses, and we're clearly shown a whiteboard that indicates that the aliens are blind and that for some reason they don't eat the people they kill, indicating that they're not hunting prey so much as trying to eradicate anything that makes a sound. According to comments made by the crew in the special features on A Quiet Place’s home video release, the production team led by Jeffery Beecroft and concept artist Luis Carrasco, as well as many. He was portrayed by the films director and co-screenwriter John Krasinski.

In subtle ways, the aliens physically resemble the design of an inner ear, which makes sense, since they're clearly overly sensitive to sound. Lee Abbott is one of the main characters in the 2018 film A Quiet Place.
